NAMAHAGE Boogey Boy

350.00

Presenting the NAMAHAGE, my third painted micro-run of the BOOGEY BOYS, a toy series centered on legendary boogeymen brought to you by the collaborative efforts of Wonder Goblin and Grizlli Atom. Namahage was hand-sculpted and painted by Wonder Goblin. Stands at 12 inches tall, articulates at 8 points, and comes with removable Namahage mask and hand-woven raffia clothing. Limited to only 5 pieces.

The Namahage is a demonic oni from Japanese folklore. They would enter homes on the first full moon of the year and punish children who were lazy or misbehaved. It was a common belief that if a child lazed in front of the fire for too long, they would get blisters. The Namahage would look out for such blisters, and peel them with a knife in order to teach the child never to be lazy again.
