Wonder Goblin created Budfoot in 2017 with the intent to make a movie centered around the character. He produced the toy in soft vinyl and released the first official paint run “Grape Ape” on 4/20/18. The toy stood at 14 inches and was articulated at 6 points with a removable cape and bong accessory.
James connected with his writing collaborator, Akom Tidwell, in October of 2017 with a basic outline for a BUDFOOT screenplay. After presenting the finished screenplay to his directing partner Tim Reis, he gathered a crew to shoot principal photography in June of 2018. It starred Skinner as Joe Carver and Henry Zebrowski as the voice of Budfoot. Post-Production took about a year to complete, and the short film premiered at KAIJU CULT 4/20/19. It’s online premiere was made a year later on 4/20/20 through the Youtube horror channel ALTER.
In a nut shell, Budfoot is a bad dude bent on coercing people into shedding their meat bodies in an effort to open a gateway within their consciousness, bringing to life their horrors and fantasies.
